The Salvation Army has been providing food, shelter and care for over 125 years in the Twin Cities. We are Here to Help.

We are a Christian ministry that provides food, housing, care, and other critical services for anyone in need, without discrimination. Funds raised by Down For The Challenge will support local Salvation Army shelters and homelessness prevention programs, which provide a lifeline for Minnesotans in need.

In the last year, The Salvation Army provided 187,000 nights of emergency shelter to those with nowhere else to go. We also helped thousands of families stay in their homes by assisting with rent or utility bridge payments. Our services provide holistic support aimed at not only breaking the cycle of chronic homelessness, but hopefully preventing it in the first place. Sadly, these numbers are expected to rise sharply when eviction moratoriums established during the pandemic are cancelled. Many tens of thousands of Minnesotans could well lose their homes because they are too far behind in rent or mortgage payments.

Your participation will help provide hope and care to those experiencing homelessness in our community!

The Salvation Army is Down for the Challenge of ending homelessness. Are you?
